Cannabis curriculum changes Thai education
2 min readDr. Kamol Rodklai stated that since the Thailand has legalized medical cannabis, Thai government is encourage many institutions of higher education to promote marijuana courses along with cannabis degree for Thai student, in hopes of preparing cannabis knowledge covering medical, health, and economic cash crop to serve the growing demand for high-skill cannabis professionals as well as promote the use of traditional herb without relying on expensive western medicine and cannabis edible courses
Dr. Kamol added that cannabis courses are being promoted nationwide from informal education to undergraduate education such as informal school, university, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctor’s degree. Especially those institutions with medical or pharmaceutical schools including Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Samut Songkhram Campus, Mae Jo university and also foreign academic collaboration with China, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia.
“Thailand will move forward to bring the greatest benefits of cannabis for Thai citizen. The government aims to promote and implement as I hope marijuana can become a new cash crop that lead our country to prosperity future.”

However Thai government also promotes cannabis education to increase public awareness on the proper use of medical cannabis and provide the right information through research publications and encourage cannabis management so that Thai people could access to cannabis-based products with high quality and proven safety and efficacy
