New Cannabis Bill is Set to Review in Parliament

Mr. Saritphong Keawkong, MP from Bhumjaithai Party stated that the deliberation of the bill on cannabis and hemp control which includes 94 parts and was rejected by the previous government, The new bill currently stalled in parliament, is ready to be reviewed, While Prime Minister Settha Thavisin expressed similar sentiments and expressed willingness to propose them to this government for its benefit of both healthcare and the economy

The cannabis industry in Thailand has now reached 21 billion baht since cannabis has been removed from drug list in 2022, as well as Administrative Court refuse to ban a cannabis policy, as the complaint was not accepted for review. as well as having the case deleted from the registry Because cannabis legalization has no harmed in person or not a person who has suffered or will certainly suffer damage.

Mr. Adisorn Piangkate, MP from Pheu Thai Party revealed that the new bill consideration must wait until the whole government responds. However he is willing to support medical cannabis development in Thailand, but doubts on cannabis as an economic crop, So this issue has to be debated in the parliament.
