Cannabis Activists Vow to Protest Against Harsh Regulation

Thailand’s Cannabis Future Network vows to protest against new cannabis policies that aims to tackle recreational use and ban household cultivation which could affect human rights as well as disrupt the entire cannabis industry.

Mr. Prasitchai Noonuan, Secretary General of Thailand’s Cannabis Future Network stated that activists are preparing for big protest against new government decision that will impact multi-billion industry. Thais stoners and local patients must have rights to design national regulations, The government needs to define what marijuana is for medical and health purposes.

“The Ministry of Public Health must recognize that smoking marijuana is an effective therapy option for traditional medical. Don’t pretend to ban cannabis and ignore the cigarette industry that causes various diseases, The Government should establish sandbox area to control recreational use”

“Banning household cannabis cultivation means the government has used its power to put the weed business in the hands of a few wealthy families as a monopoly industry along with injustice barriers preventing small-scale distilleries from entering the business, similar to the liquor industry” said Mr. Prasitchai
