Dr. Cholnan Srikaew, Public Health Minister, expressed his sympathy for investors who have invested 200-300 million baht with over 10 billion baht in total, but have no investment return due to uncertainty on cannabis law., Furthermore, they are concerned about hemp and cannabis regulation that should be a separate control in order to settle their business development.
“Cannabis products that contain THC less than 0.2% and CBD substances are not illegal, So it can be manufactured for medical reasons, But unclear cannabis law would affect licensing and permission process” said Dr. Cholnan
Dr.Cholnan added that household cannabis permission which already registered over 1 million licenses may be affected if the new cannabis bill does not support the original license conditions, Because the new draft may limit cannabis production and require specific producers such as industrial sector or local enterprise, However this government will provide any solution for household licenses that suffered by new regulation, Currently, the new bill is being written and will submit to the House of Representatives.
