Cannabis Activists Calling For Speed up Regulations

Thai Cannabis Future Writing Network submitted the draft Cannabis Act to the House of Representatives including 95 sections such as household grow will allow 9 plants, permit fees for cannabis producers, Sales restrictions, Punishment for illicit import, Ban cannabis food and ban online sales.

Activist networks also rallied to ministry of Public Health and submitted a letter to the Minister of Public Health to express the intention that the administration must use all facts in making determinations. Activists also demand that the government would speed up finalizing new cannabis regulations as well as need cannabis laws at the Act level to create a systematic mechanism for regulating cannabis to bring its advantages and prevent possible negative effects.

Dr. Cholnan Srikeaw, Public Health Minister stated that Thai Cannabis Future Writing Network made two recommendations on the benefits of medical marijuana and health including the legal status of marijuana and clarifying control regulations.

Dr. Cholnan added that currently, there’s no recommendation to delist cannabis flower back into the drug list, So any part of the plant is still legal including its flower, Now the only illegal is a cannabis substance that contains THC over 0.2%, However the new bill is being written, we will invite all relevant stakeholder to provide feedback before submitting the put it for review.
